Informal Bio

Hi, I’m Abby! Author, photographer, and overall storyteller-adventurer.

I’ve been a writer for as long as I can remember, but I wrote my first novel at age 12 and had my first piece of writing published at 13. I haven’t looked back since, and I find it thrilling to put together words that encourage and inspire.

I love telling stories any way I can, and you’ll often see me doing that through a camera. I got my first “real camera” when I was in grade two (a red Nikon Coolpix L22 point-and-shoot), and I often got told to put down my camera and “be present in the moment.” Ironically, now photography helps me be present: it helps me notice little details and find stories in both everyday life and big adventures.

When I’m not writing or playing with my cameras, you can often find me birdwatching, baking, art-making, playing a musical instrument, or going for long walks.
