Happy New Year everyone! It’s hard to believe that it’s 2020 – not only a new year but a new decade!
I am very excited about what’s in store this year. I’m not always one for ‘new year’s resolutions’ because it seems whenever people are talking about them, the resolutions are unrealistic or they’re talking about how they never made their resolution happen! But I love the promise of a new year and a fresh start and love the idea of setting goals to start the year right. So that means… writing goals!
Lots of novels! Short stories! Making lists of quotes and ideas! Notebooks and notebooks of writing!
There’s just one thing: no one else can read my stories when they’re sitting around on a laptop or in a notebook…
One of my favourite quotes is “Everyone needs deadlines” (Walt Disney), because if I ever want to get a story typed – and especially edited! – I need to create strict deadlines for myself. This year, despite my large writing projects and countless story ideas popping up, editing and submitting will be my focus with deadlines.
I have also been writing a ton of devotional essays and stories recently, and later this month my first piece in Unlocked Teen Devotional will be released! I can’t wait to share them here.
I hope you too take this new year as a fresh start to take a challenge or try something new.
Again, happy 2020!
